Dave was born and raised in Montreal, and developed a keen interest in photography in the early 80’s when he bought his first camera, a Nikkormat FTn. This camera would be his introduction to what would prove to be an exciting new part time career in the photography world.
In 1993, Dave moved to Victoria BC, to enroll in The Western Academy of Photography. Here he would sharpen his eye, hone his technical skills and learn the business side of the industry.
When The Commonwealth Games went to Victoria in 1994, Eastman Kodak (a major sponsor) asked all the students at his school if any would be interested in working with them during the games. Dave applied, was accepted and worked the Victoria Commonwealth Games. He was later called back by Kodak to work at every Summer and Winter Olympic event from 1994 – 2002 along with all Pan Am and Commonwealth events in between.
Dave’s passion is black & white landscape and infrared photography. After converting a Nikon D70 to infrared, this camera rarely gets left behind when going out shooting.
Over the years Dave has shot thousand’s of images all over the world. However, because of his strict editing only a select few have made it to this web site but he will continue to add to these pages as he sees fit.
All of the photographs that have been included in this website hold a special place in Dave’s heart and he hopes that you will admire these images as much as he does.
Enjoy!
